With October comes MADE London, the Design and Craft Fair that has become one of the best platforms for contemporary designer / makers in Europe. From  ceramicists, silversmiths, wood workers and mosaic artists to textile designers, furniture makers, glass blowers and many more are all showcased throughout the fair.

MADE London takes place at One Marylebone, a stunning Sir John Soane Church in central London.

This year I am very excited to see all the designer makers, there’s a great little gallery up on the MADE London website with all the exhibitors and their work. These are just two of my favourites, working in very different fields:

Rosie Moss is a printed textile designer creating fabrics and products for home ware, small accessories and gifts. All of Rosie’s textiles are lovingly dyed, printed and crafted by hand in the Midlands and no two designs are ever identical. Equally inspired by Scandinavian illustration, mid-century textiles and British vernacular arts and crafts; she delights in simple forms and is driven by a love for playfulness, narrative and naivety.

Forge Creative are Josh and Oli, a design workshop from Sussex, England. Inspired by the outdoors, they use natural and recycled materials such as wood, metal, concrete and glass. Their quality hand-crafted furnishings are functional items and sculptural pieces with a rustic appeal. They always use locally sourced materials.

I love the playfulness in everything they make. Their range of trees are wonderfully hand-carved on lathe making each tree unique. These would look great as a little mantlepiece forest!.

I had always wanted a slingshot growing up and seriously considering picking up theirs at the fair this month. Hazel branches are whittled down, sanded and sealed and each is given a coloured thread handle which gives them a timeless appeal. They also come with a hand made canvas bag to use as an ammo pouch and even pine cones to get you started!.Made-London-Forge-Creative-Mina-Bach-02
